98 Expi Theft light

I removed the battery cables to clean them because they were dirty and the truck didn't crank when turning the key only the fast clicking like a low battery or bad contact. After re connecting the battery the theft light blinks rapidly when either of the 2 sets of keys are used to turn on the ignition and the truck won't crank. If the ignition stays on after a few suconds there is a beeping sound from under the passenger dash. Also, neither remote will lock the doors nor will the panic buttons work but the unlock button will. When the remote lock button is pressed the only thing happens is a clicking under the dash near the radio. Both sets of keys were working fine as well as the remotes when the truck was last used 2 days ago. I'm thinking the removal of the cables may have caused the problem. Is there a reset that needs to be done to get it started?

Is the battery fully charged? Do the lights come on strong?

Now that it's getting dark, the dome light is noticably dim as well as the headlights. I believe you're on the right track suggesting the battery and I will replace it in the morning. I will post again to let you know. Thanks.

Put in an Optima red top with 800 CCA and it fired right up. Thanks for the help.

Awesome! It's funny how many things work and others that don't work when the volts/amps are low. Glad you got it sorted out.
