Exclamation Stays in overdrive

Push the button on shifter, but truck stays in overdrive, off light won't come on. Pulled button, checked with ohmeter, appears to work fine. Any ideas on this??? What colors are the wires and which plug do they go down to under dash? Maybe one is broken, if I knew color code, I could check continuity!! Anyone had this same problem??? Thanks for help.

They often break in the column near where it tilts.

Do you know what color code the wires are. There about a dozen coming down out of the steering column.

Problem solved. All three wires were chopped off and mangled in the tilt mechanism. Stupid way of installing by Ford. They routed them through the tilt instead of just over top where they can't get cut or squashed. Thanks guys.
