Yes, you need the 4wd tailsection. You can swap one into your 2wd C6, but it requires almost complete disassembly of the transmission. You would probably be better off trading that 2wd C6 for a 4wd one, or selling it and buying the right one if you don't want to get inside it. Also, it needs to be from the same engine family as your truck. 300-6, 302, 351W will work together, 351M, 400, 460 will work together, but a 460 C6 will not go on a 351W or vice-versa. 360 and 390 are a seperate group too and don't interchange with the others either. Ford is a real pain this way
