Hydrolock? Front cover gasket?

Hydrolock? Front cover gasket?
I've been going through this forum and seeing quite a lot about hydrolock and front end gasket problems. I also cheked out leakingfords. While the intake gaskes seem simple enough, the front end gasket bothers me. What am I looking to pay to have it done, just for safety's sake? I don't have a problem now, but I don't want one later. I just got the truck today, it's 4.2, 5sp. with 173,000 miles. Is there any way to know if the seals/gaskets have already been replaced?

Call any Ford dealership and ask for Fords customer service 1-800 number.Give them your VIN and have them run an "oasis" on your truck.This will tell you if the gasket was replaced under the recall back in 1999-2000.If it was not,then expect to pay $400-$600 for the job.
