Couleeman,we go about every weekend. Cant wait till breakup, I`ll let you know!....Mr. Bill, I run an ATV-SNOWMOBILE shop here in Pine River, Polaris breaks as much as Yam or any other brand. Havent had to fix your Polaris yet, must just ride it to the mailbox. ATVs are like anything else, test drive them all and ask lots of questions. Then pick the one YOU like!!!!!

fordfast, use it almost everyday and no problem yet and nevergo to the mailbox with it. Not worth starting it up for that distance. Can`t say that for the yammer just not dependable enough but everyone has their opinion. Maybe I got a lemon don`t know but I`ll never buy another one.

Polaris has been my choice of ride, and I'm satisfied with the brand. My only gripe with the ATV's is having to completely stop to shift between hi/low range. I wish they would engineer a shift-fly tranny.

doesn`t take long to stop and shift to low range. On the trails around here I am usually in low range anyway. Lot easier on the machine.

Sounds like you ride alone. When you ride with a group the hi/lo shortcoming becomes more apparent IMO.

do both and still no problem. mostly 2-10 people sometimes more . when you get to be an old fart like me it makes a big diff. specialy when I don`t have to shift all the time. some day you will understand.

Why do you ride in low range alot. Mine is always in high range unless I am pulling a load or playin in the mud(can we say mud?)and I have 28 inch Outlaw tires....Mr. Bill, have you had your Yam to the dealer or a reputable shop to get the problems resolved? I have had lots of Yams in my shop and we always make the customer happy!!

Lots of ruts mud and steep hills in the state forest that we ride. Like I said its easier on the machine . As for the local dealer, the have a young fella that is thier machanic and he has a real attitude problem. Heck they even put a tire on backwards and wouldn`t change it. I think you get the drift. They don`t care about thier cust. satifaction they are only after the buck. Polaris dealer bends over backwards to satisfy. Enough said bad subject.

I prefer low range when the trail is less than perfect. I like the power band better than high range. The only time I shift to high range is on township roads, railroad grades and the like. It's at those points where you need to come to a complete stop on a Polaris, wait a microsecond and then shift. Those in front of you continue on, those behind you come to the same grinding halt.

You said it, It only takes a microsecond so you don`t hold them and yourself up long enough to bother.

You need to come to a stop. That's the irritation whether you want to admit or not. Of course you hold up every one behind you.
