In a subconscious attempt to even things out and make my carpet match imlowrs less than acceptable new rug purchase, I slipped with a utility knife and just put a nasty 6" slice in my carpet in a highly visible place. Anybody know anything about carpet repair? I once bought a patch kit from the local store for home use, and the results were not pleasing. Anyone have a fairly specific product, or type to recommend? Preferably before 4PM CST today. It's buggin' me, I gotta fix it today.

It wasn't on a truck, but my wife and I installed some carpet that had a seam in it. The carpet chain around here we went to is called Color Tile, and they have a heat activated tape that worked really well to join the two carpet pieces together. Uses your steam iron and came with instructions. Sorry I don't have an SKU or anything on it.
Some days you should just stay in bed. I was working on a aircraft project two years ago and accidently spilt glue on the carpet right in the walkway of the aircraft. I had to cut out the glued area and splice in a new section. I would suggest that you get ahold of some old blue jean fabric and cut a strip 4X9 inches and get a good quality contact cement. Place two good coats on the denim and the back of the carpet. Allow it to tack up and then bond them together. Good luck fenders.
