It's been very cold where I live lately, so I decided to use the block heater on my 2001 E-350 V10. I have never used a block heater before, so I was wondering how warm it keeps the engine. Should anything register on the temerature gauge or should it just come up to operating temperature faster?
after seeing were your from you definitly would'nt know what a toque is, its like a sock for your head(block heater) in winter time usually use when its below freezing.
It keeps the water hot, it still takes a min. to regester on the guage, the engine is much happier when the truck is pluged in, mine gets pluged in every night, my vic has a block heater as well and about 30sec. after it is started the fan will kick on because the water is already at the 180* mark, I have a 180* stat. in it and have no macanical fan on it, so that is a good indication of how warm it keeps everything. I am guessing the truck is the same way. Probally right at 180*-160* or so.
