maintinance for 2000 expy
I would like to get info on maintinance on 5.4 liter ,it has 82000 miles and i plan on keeping the truck,but i have no idea what kind of maintinance it needs to maintain it. motor ,transmission ,reaerend, all ive ever done to it is oil change ,and air filter,tire rotation, and a iac valve. when is time for tune up and what does it cosist of? thanks for your help.

Tune up is pretty much plugs only on the Expy.....the stock plugs should last around 100K miles. I'd change the tranny fluid, differential fluids, transfer case fluid, coolant, fuel filter, etc. You're getting fairly close to needing new O2 sensors as well.

On my 99 which currently has 92k, I did a transmission flush at about 60k. I'll probably do another tranny flush at 120k then at 180k and so on. My dad did this on his 94 suburban and he has 280k on it with the original transmission. Just my 2cents

One other thing I forgot. I changed my fuel filter at 87k, I haven't changed my radiator coolant (will do this spring), haven't done my plugs (will do at 100k), haven't done O2 sensors (will probably wait till it runs bad before doing those) but I did clean the IAC valve and throttle body at 85k. I also had to replace the DPFE sensor at 85k due to CEL.
