1998 Ranger extended cab with fabric, both side manual seats. Not much support so looking to improve.

What else will fit this truck? For instance, will Explorer seats from certain years fit? What other Ranger years?

Most upgraded seats are at least power on driver side ... is harness in place under carpet to support or would I have to rewire back to panel to support power driver side? Will electric ones slide far enough for access to extended cab rear area?

Not sure about what years will fit. I have a pair of buckets from a 2004 explorer and the rails will not bolt to the floor. I have heard you can change the rails with the 98 rails and they will fit. My 98 seats are not bad enough to change, but I will put them in someday.

For the wiring, unless you have power seats already there will not be any wiring for power seats. It seems Ford dosen't put power option wiring into trucks unless they have power options. They use a different harness for power and nonpower trucks.

Seats from a 95-2001 Explorer will basically bolt right into a 1998. I put Explorer seats in my '99 (check out my Gallery) As for wiring, there was no harness in place for my '99 XLT x-cab however, there is only a power wirte and a ground on the power seats and it was very easy to run wiring to operate the power seats.
