Fan blades

I have heard a lot of horror stories about e fans, and I was wondering is it worth it to switch a a flex fan, but still on the fan clutch that is there now. In otherwords take of the factory blades and replace with an aftermarket aluminum set? The adds all say that it is pitched for better airflow and such, but is this just bs or no?

I don't think I would do that. It defeats the purpose of the flex fan and now you have a fan that is not as strong as the stock unit.

So basically this is a suckers bet? It is pitched for more air flow, but it is weaker and doesn't free up any ponies.
