Hot Tip for Max Cooling
I just installed a 4-Core Radiator from Autozone Online in my 1980 F100. It's $225.00 including shipping, and no core charge. Url is:

Apparently you have to order this online. It's not available thru a store.
This is a real good looking Brass Radiator that includes the transmission cooling coil.
It's a direct fit in the V-8 Core Support and I noiced an immediate improvement in cooling over my original 3 Core radiator.

I'm sure that part of this was that the old radiator's capacity had diminished conciderably with scaling and mineral deposits - that sort of stuff. Of course the 4-core and the materials will allow it to perform better then OEM.

There could be some deposits in the old radiator. Also the block is bored out .040" and I have a lot of performance parts in the engine, so I'm pushing 380 HP. This also means more cooling is required.
