Any options for a faster ratio steering box?

I have a 90 Bronco and I am aware of all the issues I need to cover totake care of loose steering, but I'd like to know if there are any options for a different steering box that would have fewer turns from lock out to lock out (full left to full right). I'm ofcourse not looking for a roadcourse ratio, just wouldn't mind a little faster ratio than the stock box. Any ideas?

First gen Lightning box any different?

Any other apps that might be faster, yet based on F series trucks?

Any fast ratio worm gear kits available? I've done that on manual boxes before for mopars, neat mod.

Any input would be appreaciated.

Thanks much.

Anyone ever hear of anybody swapping in a box from a different make to get quicker steering.

I'm wondering if any other boxes have the same mounting bolt pattern.

I know its got to be possible, just wondering if it would have to be completely custom from re-located mounting bolt spacing/location to hose connections to steering shaft connection.

Anyone........any ideas????

none that I have ever heard of. As for the lightning, they had all the same parts as a regular F150 except of course the hot stuff. You could try a smaller diameter steering wheel, but other than that I am not much help.

Cool, thanks for atleast sounding in.

I'm going to make some efforts to findout if there is something from another make with any possibilities. I know there are several chev ones and atleast one dodge truck box that have like 2.5 and 3 turns lock to lock.

Probably more of a project for the results than I'd bother with any time soon though.

Another option I'm going to also look into is not just a dropped pitman arm, although I'll be needing that, but a longer one. As a longer arm has the same effect of making the box act like a faster ratio. Some of the old Mopars used this trick. Not sure how much longer it would need to be, but that might have possibilities.

A steering box is a steering box is a steering box. All you need is the bracket, and a drill (drill the bracket not the frame), and you're good to go.

In a few weeks a friend of mine is putting a rack into his F150, I'll post pictures here if you want. No steering box at all!
