Problems Again!!!!
Ok I recently posted on how to find out what motor I have in my truck and it turns out to be a 76 390 thanks for all the help. Now I have a problem with the starter solenoid. Every time I turn the key over to crank the truck the solenoid starts smoking. I replaced both the solenoid and the starter to try and fix this problem but it is still doing the same old thing. Now I am very angry and I am about to go about fixing it by way of a pair of pliers and a cutting torch hahaha just kidding, but I am very mad at my truck. Any suggestions on what I should do or what this problem is caused by?

I can only think that something is wired wrong.....I tsounds like something that should be hot, may be grounded. A short! If that much current is grounding out through the smaller connections (I and S on the solenoid), then it would probably cook the solenoid. Or, if you starter lead was grounded out somewhere....
you can take the starter lead and touch it to the positive on the battery to confirm that the starter is ok. If that is good, you can trouble-shoot the solenoid. Although, you probably need a new one if it was smoking.
