What does it cost to heat your house in a month?

Hey guys what does it cost to heat your house in a month?. My last months bill was $225.00 and our house isnt that big. I heat with natural gas. I cant imagine what some of these business owners pay to heat there buildings. You guys in the southern climates this probably doesnt apply to you. I live in Nebraska and it gets cold.

About $150 during the winter in Oregon for a 2700 sq ft house. Drops down to about half that in the summer. NatGas for heat/hot water/stove. Now the shops are a different story- during the winter the gas bill runs in the low 5-figures...each.

I am one of the lucky ones... Forced Air/Oil heat, small house (but not insulated very well), digital thermostat. My heating bill is about $300 per year.

When I put in the programmable t-stat, usage was cut nearly IN HALF. Best $70 I ever spent.

Now the other half... her house (we each have a house) is gas-fired boiler (brand new) with radiators. Old house with pretty bad insulation although we added a bunch to the attic. Her gas bill during the Winter is $200-$250. And she swears up and down gas & radiators are better... My house is never cold... hers is freezing half the time...

We're in PA and NJ.

ok here's one, my gas last month was $225.00 (firnance, stove, water heater) and my electric was $110.00. the house is about 2700 sq ft with a 1300 sq ft basement. that was the biggest gas/electric bill we have had in the 2 1/2 years we've been in this house

I'm on the budget plan.
$71.00/month
at the end of 12 months it either costs more or I get a refund.

We also have a rebate system in place that if the price of NG goes over $5.00 a GIG then the government gives us a rebate.

That'd work for me, 'cept most of our NatGas comes from Canukistan. Good thing Encana and Trans Canadian pays dividends.

"0" live in Florida, and when it does get cool and requires heat which is very rarely, it's not much! Because it only lasts a day or two, and you only need it for the night.

$32 a month for natural gas, I too pay throught the year for the same. This price includes my hot water heater and the washing machine. During the summer all I have to do is go outside and soak up the 110+

~$600 a year to fill the propane tank (furnace, space heater, stove, dryer), ~$80 a month for electric. The diesel powered torpedo heater in the uninsulated shop is a different story...glad it runs good on non-taxed diesel...keep it set at 40 degrees or warmer and have so far gone thru probably 75 gallons since October. Burns about a gallon an hour when run on continuously. It'll burn about 7 gallons per 24 hours to keep the shop 40 when it's 10-20 degrees outside.

Costs me about 300 a year with propane.....not sure on how much the electrical runs for the heating part. I average 110 a month on electrical thru the winter, that includes the electric stove, water heater, dryer, plus all the other things that a typical 3 perason family needs.

December's bill was $425. All we do is heat with natural gas. We keep the upstairs a little warmer (73) due to the kid's rooms is up there and the little one is 1yr old. That is the highest it has ever been. The gas and electric company went up 75% just on the gas the last few months. Of that bill $335 was gas alone.

we pay some of the lowest electric rates in north america.

i'm on a payment plan and pay 79$/month for all my electricity.

when temp falls below -12C and demand is high the price goes up 3x and my system switches to heating fuel. figure i use about 500 can$ of that stuff per year.
