I think it actually might involve prayer.
Seriously though--and more people will be able to answer, and better then me--I think that the first thing is to ditch the 302. Even with a 351, I think it'll be close before you have to go to a supercharger. Either way, it will cost serious money.

Ya, there would be alot of money involved on that one. I would stick with the 302 because there is a world of aftermarket parts for them. You would have to completly re-work the engine. I have seen some high H.P. 302's without a supercharger, but there is alot to be done to get them that way.

I don't know that you could get that amount of HP out of any small block without going to a supercharger. But there are stroker kits you can buy and specially calibrated carbs, aluminum heads with roller rockers and a radical cam, but you better hit the lottery cause now your up around $10,000.00 to outfit an engine like this not mention balancing and blueprinting it. You can buy crate motors with astronomical HP already built in them, but most are big blocks, i.e 427, 460, 490 etc.
Move your question over to the engine forums and ask some of the experts over there to give you hand with this, they are pros at it.
