I am thinking about doing the same thing with my 96 F150. The engine is approaching 300K, still running strong but I am starting to make the plans. Is the firing order the same? Also, does the computer have to be changed? Wht else?

On the '96, the firing order should be the same as the HO firing order. The computer would not have to be changed. Just drop in the long block and you should be ready to bolt on all the truck accessories and wiring.
