hey scott the truck you are talking about is owned by a very good friend of mine and i use to pit crew for him and worked on that truck while he was building it. you probably saw it run at byron in the mid 90's?? he still has the truck and just takes it to car shows now and drives it around town. that truck was alot of fun and man did she get up and move too. i rode in it once, even though there is no passanger seat just sit on the roll cage, and man that was fun.

The rear is a Mopar 8 3/4 3.91 ratio posi. The truck came with all this and since it runs so good, I'm not about to change it for now. I can be cruising at 40mph, hit the switches to turn off the OD unit and turn on the electric TH400 kickdown at the same time and lay 30 ft of rubber ! Gearheads want to know what the hell is in there to do that!

Since this is not a daily driver gas is not an issue....it can't be at only 4-5 mpg ! My daily driver is a 2001 V6 F-150......but not nearly as much fun to drive.

If your looking for a 429 complete with a c-6 tranny I have one.

Are you still building that truck? Am I going to see it this year in Knoxville? Hey if you and Ms Purple are going I have an extra room in the group I have reserved.

Hi ,Bill!
Sounds good! PM me with the details.

The '55 might make it there.Haven't been able to work on it the last couple of months,so I'd better get busy when I get back from my South Dakota ice fishing trip the end of this month.

You have any pictures to share? I would like to see how your engine and tranny setup looks. Are you running a non-computer controlled motor?

i will get some pics of the motor and trans set ups hopefully this weekend. the 6.9 is totally mechanically controled motor, no computers stuff on this old girl. would be interesting to get one of the 7.3 powerstrokes or one of the NEW 6.0 powerstrokes. or that little experimental powerstroke that is heading for the F150s. hhhhmmmm might need to build another truck soon.

I have a 390 in my 51 F1 out of a Galaxy. I am about to pull it out this weekend and redo the motor mounts, because I am clipping it. My rear end right now is out of a Gremlin. It was on the truck when I bought it a couple of months ago. They are tough little rear ends, but I am going to replace it with a 9" asap and flip the rear end and notch the frame.

Mine has a 460/C6 with a Dana 70 Detroit locker. I'm running some old 12.5" wide X 16.5" tires in the rear and they offer no resistance when I power brake it. I did it the easy way, however, I put the sheetmetal on an 84 E350 chassis.

I made mine to tow a trailer hauling restored tractors and dozers to tractor shows.
