Ford keyless entry/alarm systems can be identified by a keypad on the driver's door. I am not aware of any Ford systems that didn't also have this feature.

It's on the outside of the door. You would know it if you had it. It's the typical Ford 5 horizontal buttons. I'm not sure if that was an option for your year or not.
I could be wrong but I thought that if you had a power seat you had keyless entry? I don't believe it has to have the keypad but I could be wrong.
Good Luck
I don't believe there is any relation between power seats and keyless entry/alarm. I have seen plenty of Explorers with power seats and no keyless entry system. If someone has a Ford keyless entry without a keypad let me know.
In 97, if you had keyless entry, you had the keypad on the drivers door. The newer ones might not have the keypad, but still have keyless entry with a remote.
For a 94, stop by any Ford dealership and have them run the VIN number. It will tell you all the options that came with that vehicle, and will tell you if the vehicle has keyless entry. If it does, all you will need is a remote and then set it up.
