Question best chip for my 97 ford truck

Hello, I'm looking for some help, I have a 1997 Ford F-250 HD old body style with a 5.8 Liter engine, a 5 speed manual trans. I have a flowmaster catback system and K&N fipk. I'm thinking of getting a chip for my truck, but am unsure of the best chip. Also what kind of gains can I expect? Thanks Chris

DiabloSport or SCT - both tune at all RPMs/throttle positions. Some other brands don't for your year. www.motorhaven.com

Check out the numerous threads on this subject here in this forum section. I've answered this same question about a hundred times here, at least.

Did the 97 & 98 F250's continue with EEC-IV if they had the "old" series of engines, or did these engines get thrown into OBD-II as well? Just my own curiosity.

My 97 F250 HD with the 460 has OBD-I and EEC-IV. I think they all did till the super duty's came out.

Yup, all the big iron trucks with big blocks had EEC-IV. Only exception is the Power Stroke diesel.
