A '52 axle will be the same as the '49. Ford changed the spindles and front brake drums in '53 for the trucks. ...Terry

I paid $350 for it, but I purchased it at the Long Beach Auto Swap Meet. So Cal has a spot there. I know they carry them. I'm surprised its not on the website?
Roadsters.com also carries axles. Check out this article on dropped axle, it'll help also.

You can get a 48-52 dopped axle from Cenpen.com. They don't show one on their website but they do have them.

You will also have to modify your drivers side shock tower. The drag link will hit the shock if you don't extend the shock mount out.

mikesfordf1- When I got my dropped axle, it came with new U bolts for the front, and also came with shock plates. You also have to change both sides, not just the driver's side, because then you have two variations of the shocks. Changing both shocks plates allows you to use the same type of shock. I know I went with a different shorter shock in the front due to travel of the shock. Don't know the number of the shock off hand.

You will just have to extend your drivers side shock tower mount.
