P.S. sorry for high jacking, maybe I will start a new thread with my calculations and how it can be done. it all works on paper, but the machine shop and I havent started yet.
You should have the cylinder wall sonic checked, before you bore to 0.060 over. If it fails sonic check, you will need to buy another block. So why not start with another block.
my motor is running has been running with no ill effects thats what the question was originally so we all have oppinions but i have proof and thats enough for me
my C is bored .030 over, and from what i recall you can only bore it out .030 out, if you were to bore it out more you'd have to sleeve it. i broke a ring and dropped a rod in my first C, and almost paid to get everything worked, till i found a C in a torino GT just begging to be run.
no that is not correct mine is bored .060 over ond no sleeves. anyone remember the origional question? 60 over can be done has been done and will continue to be done I imagine. I have had more than 1 bored that far and the 1 i have now is too. you all have opinions but the question is can it be done? the answer is yes end of story
The 351C motors are known to have thinner walls than the 351M/400 motors. I think that +0.030" is the limit for a 351C, but I would not bore an 'M' block past +0.040" without a sonic check.

I need a new machine shop they said oh yeah it can be bored .060 over and the guy did not even sonic check it. When I asked him why he did not sonic check it he said " I have been doing this for years and never had a problem." So it is time to move on to a new shop.
I would error on the safe side and sonic check it before boring. I would hate to bore seven holes to find out the 8th was to thin. If the machinist says he can do it and would cover the cost if he was wrong(ie replace block) I would do it. But than again I do things most people would shy away from. Semper Fi.
