My 00 F-250 started running real rough and eventually quit, it restarted and ran for a few more minutes befor totally quitting and not starting. My first thought was fuel. I carry an new fuel filter and went to put it in there is no fuel in the filter housing, fuel pump right? When turning the key on to the prestart mod I can hear the fuel pump running for about 20 sec. then quits this is normal right. Cycled the fuel pump a few times checked the filter housing still no fuel.

Does this sound like the fuel pump is "Tango Uniform"?

Is there a better brand then Ford OEM?

Ford OEM is F81Z-9C407-AC does any one know if F81U-9C407-BA-12V would work its out of a 00' E-450 Van with 7.3L PSD?

Not sure if the other pump will work. How much fuel is in the tank? The pick up in the tank might be the problem. If the tank is low try adding fuel. If that gets you running It's time to do the in tank mods when you drop the tank.

 

Had about a 1/4 tank when it quit, I put anouther 10 gallons in about 1/2 tank now recycled the prestart a few times checked the filter resivour, no fuel. If there is a failure with the pickup how much fuel is generally needed?
