double checking its the wheel bearings.

just double checking. I am fairly sure that it is the wheel bearings. I can turn the wheel, but not easily at all. the hub is removed, as is the brake caliper...when i turn the wheel, it is very dificult. It is not in 4wd, and the axel is not turning at all. Just checking before I spend the money, this means the hub assebly needs replaced as most likly the wheel bearing...and the wheel bearigns can not be replaced individually, the entire assebly must be replaced...correct?

best place to purchase?

I am assuming you have a 99 and up Superduty and yes you have to replace the hub assembly.

yes, it is a 99.5

does the not being able to turn the hub easily with no brakes on it, and 4wd not engaged then deffinatly mean it is wheel bearings?

Yes I would say it is a wheel bearing bad.
