Question Do they still have Modified stickers in WV?

Hey all, I took the truck down to have it inspected this morning and they put a regular sticker on it. I thought it had to have a Modified sticker with all the suspension mod's I've done. Do they still have such a sticker? Anyway I was happy because I thought it was going to be around $30.00 and I got out of there for $12.00.

Here in C'burg not every inspection station does the modified sticker, only a few. As far as I know they still have the modified sticker, but if you did not know what you were looking at I could see you getting a regular sticker.
Your truck does not look like a circus act driving down the road. Plenty of those here in C'burg though, you know the ones I am talking about. I bet you have plenty over there also.

My buddy has a 6 inch lift on his superduty and has to get one. Dont know how much the stickers are, but he complains about them going over his truck with a fine tooth comb.

They still have modified stickers. Someone in every county must have a certification station! The State code requires one certified inspection station in each county! Call the WV State Police to find the station in your area. They are in charge of inspections. Some day I hope to have my modified inspection mechanic license.

Well thats funny.. The station I went to said they did the modified stickers, and when I got the truck back it had a nice new regular sticker on it. I have 5" of lift on my truck and they didn't think it was modified? Oh well I hope the police can't nail me for not having the right sticker.

Rod, what do they do different when doing a modified inspection?

The modified inspection is based on lift. Over 3 inches should have a modified sticker! They must inspect the lift.

I don't know just what is added to the modified inspection.

Fitter565 Any vehicle altered in hight by raising must have a modified sticker. Even if it is only by a larger tire size. We do the modified stickers, and the state police are real tough on them in Morgantown. I would go back and tell them to put on the right sticker. Your asking to be stoped with the wrong one.

modified stickers suck

well here in parkersburg it is a royal pain in the *** to get a mod. sticker a fine tooth comb is not quite the word every detal has to be perfect if you have bigger tires and no lift you still legally need a modified most station,s here arent that smart tho the only loophole i know of is if you have a 1 ton and your door jamb sticker says the weight in 10k or more you can run B plates and then you dont need a modified i ran a ton ch**y on 44s for 2 years and never even got stopped im just glad they arent that hard on regular stickers or wed all be walkin

My truck is raised 2" in the front to level it out, and has 33s on it. Got it inspected a couple of weeks ago, and no mod sticker. However, unless you really know what you are looking for, it doesn't look modified. I've got a pick of it in my gallery.

Thanks,

It looks good in the pick, but it needs a paint job bad. It's just a secondary truck (but my baby!) I've also got a 02 Ranger FX4.

You know, I've been a member of FTE for years (even back when they were just an email discussion group), and I just now ventured into the WV chapter!
