Need help 1993 F150

I need help with my 1993 F150 xlt 2 wheel drive, 302. The truck doesn't like to start. It takes three to four cranks before it fires. I've changed the idle air control, plugs, wires, rotor, coil, and checked the timing. Does anyone think it could be the computer doing this? If so can I buy a used compter?
Thanks for the help

welcome to FTE. first get your trouble codes. Even if there is no engine light on. See how at www.fordfuelinjection.com , under getting trouble codes. Its easy and free. Also your Haynes manual has a ECC trouble codes section. Once you get your codes start checking each part with the lowest codes first. Codes will tell you which part is bad, sometime one code is caused by another code. Use a volt meter to check each sensor and wiring. Haynes manual has more about how much voltage each sensor needs. If the engine light is on, Autozone may read your codes for free. let us know if your find any codes.

I would like to Know what your fuel pressure is when attempting to crank???? Have you replaced your fuel filter lately and if you don't remember when it cheap and easy to try- Just a suggestion and seen pumps and filters cause this!!

I doubt your computer is at fault because they rarely fail, like mentioned in the previous post check your fuel pressure at the shraeder valve it should be 30 to 40ish with the vacuum plugged off.

When you check your fuel pressure, pay particular attention to the rate of bleed-down. Cycle the key from off to on, the pressure should come up to 40 PSI. Then it should stay above 35 PSI for at least 30 seconds. If the pressure drops like a stone, the check valve in the pump may be bad.

Long crank times are often indicative of a lack of residual pressure in the fuel rails, due to the fuel leaking back past the check valve.
