Yeh it looks like Ford is set to break a record this year. The superduties have been really hot sellers this year. Most dealers run out off 04 Superduties in September and are selling the o5s. Although there are 04 150s left and Ford has done this without the huge rebates that the other 2 GM and Dodge have had. Good used ones are scarce all the time. The time on a lot isnt very long. Are Americans in love with Ford trucks Yup. Hey if it doesnt say Ford on the front is it really a truck. Nah.

Thats awesome.

So about 360k SD. Does that sound right? Seems a might low. Whats the percentage of diesel equipped SD. I ran it at 75% and came up with 270k diesels.

I just hope Ford doesn't get complacent. Ford needs to take Toyota's threat serious. Japan's threat to the auto industry wasn't taken serious in the 60's and 70's, now look. Today people think Japan won't/can't do the same with trucks but they will if not taken serious again.

I can't belive GM will not have a new truck until 2008. I was supprised to see Dodge sales fell, I thought sales were up.

How sweet that news is. Sounds like they are going to keep the trucks selling, now they just need to work on regaining some share in the car department. i hope they can do it because their survival for the next 50 years depends on it.

True. Hopefully, like with the fears over diesels with aluminum heads, Ford and everyone else leaves the complacency of the 70s and 80s behind as well.

Whenever Toyota gets around to the San Anton' plant, that will flag locals attention on that basis alone. Like it or not. When they get that dispute with the local real estate developer (they own a chain of restaurants, too) who want land next to that proposed factory ironed out, of course.

As for GM not getting anything new out until '08....what or are they thinking? The Ranger *can* get by in that case, though they need to ditch the 3.slow and make 4-cyl SuperCabs again (with 4x4, too), but GM still thinks v8 gassers that drink oil as if this was the 1960s all over again and that won't cut it.

I won't drive anything without a frame under it, but hopefully Ford pulls out of the rut with car sales.

Hmmm... It will be interesting to see if the F-Series will be surpassed this year by Chevy...

4-cyl Ranger Supercabs are back in 2006 MY. You can place an order for one now. I seriously considered it, but decided to get a long bed instead.

The article is referring to 2004 sales, not 2005. The article is dated December 29th, 2004.
