Hey all, first post but have learned alot from the board. I just replaced the manual transmission in a 94 ford ranger. It has hydraulic clutch and after replacement of tranny, clutch will not engage/disengage. There is no resistance from clutch pedal, bled for a good 30 minutes with no help. Still no resistance from clutch pedal. Checked slave arm and seems to be working fine. One thing noticed is on the old tranny there was a blue seal-like piece with 5 teeth around the edges over the throw-out bearing. The new transmission did not have this piece and i didnt put it on it. Could this be needed for clutch to work properly?

All help and info is greatly appreciated!!!
A pic is worth 1000 words...... any pics? I have replaced my trans as well, and I don't remember the piece you are talking about. Also, did you just swap over the slave and release bearing all together? If so, why did you bleed the system? If you didn't replace the slave with a new one, then you didn't have to bleed it. The lines are sealed when you disconnect them, so there is minimal to no air introduced. It sounds like you still have air in there.
