87-91 Front End to 92-96 Front End

First off this is my first post so hello board,

I did a search and wasn't able to get anything related. I was wondering have any of you converted your 87-91 Front end to a 92-96. If so what was needed other then the obvious. Also, have any of you replaced your dash in that model year(87-91) I have a 90 and my dash is in ****ty condition and would like to replace it, so I guess what years will be compatible? Lastly, will 80-86 door panels slap on a 87-91 door? I'm new to these trucks so bare with me.

Thanks and Merry Christmas,

Erwin

I don't know for fact, but from what I've read here, you need the whole front clip including the core support. I think the dash will go right in there. As far as the door panels, I don't Know but the cabs on these trucks haven't changed forever, so that's possible

The cab shell from 87-96 was essentially the same, with the addition of an EFI "slot" in the firewall and a few misc holes in different places. Other than that, doors, glass, trim etc will all interchange fairly easily.

Same for the front clip - *if* you exchange the radiator support and the headlight suppport that attaches to it, to match the year range clip you're installing.

Thanks guys,

So i guess 80-86 door panels will work. I think that I will not do the front end swap. Don't feel like welding. I also found out that Xenon makes a body kit for out year. Any of you ever see it?

Take care,

Erwin
