the other day i spotted a v10 and went to go for a test drive, but the thing would not start. gas was full and it was cranking fine. i plan on buying a few v10s because of all the 6.0 problems. however, i have never had a problem with all the 6.0 i have seen and test driven, only from what i hear on the forums. i have switched over between the two so many times i dont think i am goin to buy anything

So a brand new, on the dealer's lot, V-10 SD pick-up you tried to test drive wouldn't start ? That's odd, believable, but odd. They're driven onto the delivery trucks, then onto the dealers lots so it sounds weird that it wouldn't start if the battery was charged and it would spin the motor. Anyway, the V-10 has, overall, had far fewer problems than the baby-stroke. I wouldn't hold one episode with one truck at one dealer lot as a qualifier for deciding between any certain model. Give the V-10 another shot somewhere else. Read through the posts here. Read through the posts over at the PSD site. I walk up to people in gas stations who have a vehicle I may be interested in and talk to them. Everybody always wants to tell you about their truck, good and bad. Go to the govt recall site and look. Read some tests in the truck and car magazines. DO NOT read Consumer Reports, that is a bogus, sneaky, underhanded rag, it's trash, Ken
Just be glad that you even had the chance to drive a V10. none around here in my area at all, only 5.4's and power strokes. I want a F250 Lariat 4x4 super Cab in arizona beige with a V10 and my dealer ran a search for one and could not locate one anywhere. Hope you find what you are looking for.
I test drove a 05 V10 auto over the x-mas break. Very nice. The dealer had 2, a 4.10 and a 4.30. I drove the 4.10. I loved the tow/haul mode. Nice downshifts when stopping.
