Total Miles On Full Tank

I have a 99 Ford Explorer 4.0 OHV.
Curious to know what other users get out of a full tank of gas. I know i can break down by miles per gallon but what about a full tank of gas.
In the summer time, i get roughly 300 miles to a full tank of gas before my check gauge light comes on to warn me of my Fuel Gauge needle.
In winter this gets cut down to about 250-260 miles on a full tank.
Is my gas mileage decent compared to other users or is my truck a guzzler.
Like to hear any feed back. I have had tune ups and regular maintenance done, but i have always stayed around this mileage on a full tank of gas.
Thanks

What rear end gearing do you have? Making sure your getting a comparison of apples vs apples, etc.

My 97 XLT will go about 300 miles before I hit the panic button, have nursed it to about 340. I actually use the mileage instead of the gauge to determine when to gas up. I usually fill up at 275-290. Never know when the gauge might puke.

My '92 will go over 300 miles, but I generally fill up somewhere just over 250 (float sank and guage don't work). My '03 will go over 350, but it has a bigger tank. They both get about the same milage. Both are 4wd with a 4.0L V6 (pushrod '92,SOHC '03).

It seems that manufacturers target 300 miles per tank, in general. Take a 4 cylinder Honda - 12 gallon tank - 300 miles. My 360 Durango - 25 gallon tank - 300 miles. The 93 Explorer used to get 80 miles per 1/4 tank ~300 miles. But the 173K miles, city traffic only now and my lead foot from traffic light to traffic light have levied a mere 50 miles per 1/4 tank - but what's a 5 sp and headers for anyway?

I have an 02 Explorer XLT 4WD with 4.0L V-6 and a 3.73 LS rear-end differential. Most I ever got was 501 miles before check light came on, and filled it up with 20 gals so that was 25 mph. I had been driving at 55 mph on an interstate and had trucks tailgating me at about ten feet back, so haven't gone that slow again on an interstate.

My 2001 5.0 gets around 280 before I fill up. I can go maybe 320 before completly empty, but never risk it. Also mine is AWD and 3.73 gears.

My 99 4.0 sohc always gets 16.75 to 17.25 around town. Never have ran it down enough to see how far it would go.

My old 97 SOHC 4.0L Explorer XLT with 3.55 gearing, was good for 20-24 mpg highway (depending on speed, hills and temp). This was roughly 350-400 mile range on a tank of gas before the light came on.

345 like clockwork in my '95. It's so predictable that I often run it right to that point - and it usually takes about 19.8 gallons to fill it up. One of these days I'm going to miss the boat
