I would try moving the accelerator pump rod to a different hole on the lever and see if this helps. Also, Make sure that your vacuum advance is hooked up to the passengerside front port on the carb and is working. Also, check the initial timing. It should be around 10 to 12 BTDC.
i know that the vac advace is hooked up right and is in the right place but the accel pump i had never thought about. hey also my high idle wont kick in in the morning the choke seems to set (havent had time to find out yet) but would u know what would cause this
If the choke is closing, you may just need to adjust the fast idle screw in a little bit until it touched the cam and opens the throttle a little bit. It is located on the back of the linkage.
well i know that the fast idle works and i have it set right cuz i can manually set it but it doesnt engauge when it should unless i do it by moving the cam by hand
hey about the accel pump how do u move it to a different position i dont see any different holes for adjustment should they be on the top where the linkage hooks to the accel pump or to the throttle linkage. also still cant find out y my high idle doesen work. not really asking any thing new just trying to kinda bump the tread along
Turn the choke spring housing to increase the spring tension and see if it closes the choke valve. Might not be set rich enough or moving parts in the choke set up might be binding.
