67/69 Seat choice, opinions wanted.

All,

I'm looking at a modern style seat for my 67/69 project. It's alll black buckets with center seat/console made by APC. Available from jeg's.

I realize it looks quite modern for the old truck. But, my interior has black vinyl door panels and a custom Haneline gauge panel. I though maybe these would help to make a modern seat look at home....I like what this seat has to offer as far as comfort, safety, storage etc.

take a look here at the truck, and the potential seat at the bottom of the page.

Not bad. I think the "modern" part is the high backs with seat belt holes. If they were more plain it wouldn't even look out of place.

I have buckets in both of my trucks ('67 and '69). Both are high back, the '69 has a power drivers seat bottom(even though you can't move it much). Both have seat covers also to match interior(since seats didn't).

I HATE bench seats with a passion, and both of mine had perfect seats originally. I like something that "holds" you, not let you slide from one side to another..

I put together a pair of grey leather and vinyl seats out of a 98 crown vic in my 67. They are six way power with air lumbar support. Scored them for $50 from a junkjard. I will try to get some pictures in my gallery of them if you want. I had to get creative to make the mounts, but it worked out within a day. I am going to use the factory seatbelt holes on these seats so the belts aren't just hanging on the floor. I just recovered my headliner today with matching grey vinyl. It's gonna be sweet!

Buckets - not high back

I have a personal thing about the top of seat sticking up past the bottom of windshield. Like I said a Personal Thing. To each his own. I'm planning on buckets, so I got some period correct 66 Mustang Buckets off e bay. Just have to get them recovered to match my interior and make some bases and a console. 67 trucks used 65-66 Mustang Seats, 68-69 used 67. Or so I've read and from few I've seen with this rare option it appears to be true.
SCAT makes some nice low back buckets, and some of the Street Rod suppliers as well.

I also have a personal thing about the seat height, but I'm even more personal about my head hitting that window :-) I fiugure I'll tint the window eventually!

I will also convert to some 3 point shoulder starps stetups when I do the seat conversion..

I appreciate everybody's input.....
