stick shifter change?
i have a 89 ranger 4x4 2.3l with a 5spd. right now it has the factory stick to change the gears, you know the one with the boot that goes all the way to the ****. anyway, im thinking about switching it out with an older one out of another truck. is this hard to change? and will i have to drop the tranny to do it? hope some one can help.

Redneck, you can make the change from inside the cab. There are only four bolts holding the shifter assembly onto tranny. Just remove the boot and it will be apparent. Not sure if an older one will work, but it is easy to check. Good luck.
