Couldn't resist. Sorry.

I guess if you really wanted to go high-tech, you could build yourself a davit arm with a winch on it, similar to the ones used to load and lower LPG tanks from service trucks. Just sling the bike and crank it up.
I like this idea best, the second one. My truck looks similar to jetjocks in height. I do the berm thing when I go dirtbike riding(everyday at work ), but that doesn't work for my streetbikes. I don't like the idea of the folding ramps because of the chance of it folding at a bad time. I guess I'll have to engineer something since I don't want to carry a 20 foot long ramp. Some sort of lifting crane that plugs in the receiver?

I have used a rampmaster folding ramp for four years to load my GSX-R750 race bike when heading out to the track. I've also loaded my R1, wife's R6, friends big pig RC51s and such with no problems at all.

The ramp is really well made and folding the wrong way won't be an issue. You could even ride up a gold wing if you were brave and the ramp would handle it fine.

Safety tip. . . .

Always use a tie-down to cinch the ramp up against the tailgate or bed of the truck when loading or unloading. I've seen guys grab the front brake when unloading and have ramps back off the tailgate and everything drops.

Being lazy, I almost always put the bike in gear and use the motor to run it up the ramp. You really don't want a bit of tire spin to pull the ramp off the truck when loading either.

I guess I need to somehow measure and see what angles will work to see if a a ramp is even possible. The problem is going to be the ground clearance of the bike when going over the tailgate. The majority of the time I will be loading a zx10, which is not much more than 400 pounds. But I also have a titan that is over 600 pounds and only has a couple of inches btween the ground and the frame. I don't know if a ramp will work on that or not.

Check out the motorcycle lifts at www.jettrax.com

They even have a video clip of it in action.

You talkin' dirt bikes? Just lift them up and toss them in. They're well under 300 lbs, right?

I do that with the dirtbikes, but the ninja weighs around 400 and the harley probably around 600. Thats probably why they call them hogs.

If you have a lightweight bike, like a pit bike, the racks that slide into the trailer hitch and carry the bike parallel to the rear fender might be an option.
