Module hanging from rear view mirror with wiring?

I just bought my 2004 FX4 Supercrew on 11/20/04 and was wandering what was hanging in front of my rear view mirror. I just have a plain rear view no auto dimming. It looks like it is about 2x2x1 inches and has some wires coming out of it. Does anyone know what this is for?

Thanks Marc

I believe it is your electronic compass. Do you have on in the Dash on the FX4.

It is the RADAR unit. The 2006's are going to have wings, and if you are relying on auto-pilot, you have to have radar.

No, for real it is the compass module. There is a little button on the top of it, drivers side, rear that is used to calibrate it.
