Picking your Brain....
Ok, everybody knows about transfercases... So here is a question.
A dand 24 runs a metal speedo gears both the driver gear and the internal gear. And these gears are very hard to find i know from experince. so my question to u is could you replace BOTH metal gears on the DANA 24 with a plastic gear set from another type of transfercase ? IE takeing both plastic gears from a NP205 and putting the one on the tailshaft and being able to run that plastic gear..
The Reason i have this question is i have a prefectly fine Dana 24 but the Speedo Gears are shot and i cant find either one of them so i am thinking that maybe i can do this modification and save me the money of buying a new transfercase..
