Engine swap - push rod ??

I am in the process of trying to finish up replacing the 351w in my 92 150 with a 94 351w... When I picked up the engine one of the heads was off since it had to have some machine work done and it was missing one of the push rods, so instead of 8 rods I only have 7. I have been trying to find a good site to order from but I am trying to be cheap, the push rod is cheap enough but shipping is 4x more expensive then the blasted part. (2 bux for rod, 8 bux shipping...)

Anyways my question is this - my 92 351w has 8.182" push rods, but the 94 has 7.523" push rods, can I just swap all the push rods out with the 8.182" push rods or is that a major no no? I have read about people putting longer push rods in but not sure if their situation is the same as mine... these technicalities are beyond my experience so any help would be GREATLY appreciated! TIA

Guessing the '94 is a roller motor and the '92 is a flat tappet. Thus the reason for shorter push rods in the '94 motor. The roller tappets are taller. I would not suggest swapping, as it will screw with rocker height and you can't adjust them. It would likely just hold the valves open and start bending things.

When guys do get longer pushrods, they might be .05 longer, not .50

Yarr I was afraid of that =\ It is rather hard to find a selection of the 7.523" push rods - every online store I find gives stock replacement for the 94 at 8.182"... were there some variations on the 94's or are all the stores wrong? From my previous post someone had stated 93 was the transition period, while 94 went strictly to the roller... anywho thanks for the quick reply Lew & Freightrain
