Does anyone know how mutch weight you can safely put on the tail gate
I bought a Polaris Sportsman ATV and it is right at 700 lbs. I will be using
7 Ft. ramps Any thoughts on this Don

 

It has to depend on the condition of the two cables that support your tailgate. On my son's Ranger one of his cables broke because of rust. You dont realize how heavy a tailgate is but they are strong. I have had 3 workers eat their lunch on my F150. Sorry, I don't know the weight they support, but 3 men with their lunches has to be close to 500 Ibs.

 

I have a 98 f150 and a atv and mine is huge 4x4 ant it is very heavy i have used the ramps with no problems. like blueice said check your cables if the look rotten dont even try it replace them

 

You can always remove the tailgate first and then load the ATV, but thats a little bit more of a hassle
