305/50/20 Too Big for Centerline?

Tirerack has a great deal on 305/50/20 Kumho Ecsta Tires $140 each. Centerlinewheels.com has a great deal on 20x8" rims for $169 a piece. My question is tirerack has a range of tire widths for these tires and the minimum for this tire is 8.5". Do you think these tires are too wide for the rims? Any problems experienced when using a narrow rim relative to a really wide ones???

A side question, with appropriate siping, do you think these could be used on hardpack and light snow?????

Shouldnt be a problem. Ive known some guys to run some REALLY wide tires on rims that were "Technically" too narrow. They drove the tires bald and never had a problem.

Boss....you better start considering wheel offset before you make a wheel purchase!!!! I don't know what the offset of the Centerlines is but my guess is that you are not going to like 305's on the front.

These damn new Fords have a front hub that sticks way too far out. Subsequently that is going to make a 305 hang-out past your front fender by approx 1.5 inch. Again it depends on offset.. The overwelming majority of custom wheels for our trucks come with a 35mm offset.

I have some DK 20's (with 35mm offset) with only 265/50's and mine still stick out on the front by about 1/2". I do not like that.

It is clear that Ford did not consider it's customer putting wider aftermarket rims on these trucks.
