They were optional on the 94-97's, but every PSD since 99 comes standard with the block heater. Look for the big cord above the oil filter and follow it forward.
The plug is usually tucked down in the front bumper behind the front license plate mount somewhere. I had a heck of a time finding mine and getting it out. It would help if you have SMALL hands - or a 5 year old handy - to get it pulled out.

no kidding, I have larger than most hands, and it scraped em gettin it out, time to have kids.
look on the drivers side, between the headlite and lic plate. Mine had acap on the end and it was real short so I made a pigtail and ziptied it to my bumper. Think small hands
I have a question. My block heater cord got a cut in it and severed the hot wire. Can I splice/solder a new three prong lead on it or should I replace the whole cord? Where would I buy just the cord if that is needed? Thanks
I would replace any elect. wire rather than repair. The wire is under the truck and exposed to all elements. As to where I`d say the dealer, but first check our FTE sponsors
It actually got cut right near the plug in so I'm pretty sure the rest of the wiring is ok. I called my dealer today and they want $73.00 just for a cord. Of to Home Depot to get a heavy duty three prong plug end.
