Just went to the Ford Motorcraft website. When I key in my wife's 2001 Excursion 7.3L PSD, I get FG-1057 for the fuel filter. When I did my 2002 F350 SD 7.3L PSD, I got FD-4596 and FG-1057 for the fuel filter. I thought that there would not be any difference between the engines. Why the different part numbers?

 

There is no difference in the engine or the filter....dunno what the other part number is about.

 

My guess is one might be the filter and lid combo where the lid is thrown out with the filter.
