V8 Ranger Rear Axle Suggestions

I have a 1984 Ranger with a 302 v8. I would like to put a axle with disc brake mounting already there. Does anyone know of an axle that will bolt up and still retain the 4.5 bolt circle and of course have disc brakes? Please answer here or email me at n9kwc1@netzero.net. Thanks for you help.

the only thing I could think of is if you could find an older mustang, they MIGHT have a smaller 5-lug pattern like the Ranger, and if you can find JUST the right one, it could have disc brakes

Just like bad apple said. It's an 8.8" 31 spline rear axle with the same bolt pattern as the Ranger. You will need to weld on new spring perches and shock mounts, since the Explorer is Axle-over-spring. No big deal though

re: v8 Ranger Rear Axle Suggestions

Thanks for your comments guys (or gals). I guess I'll start looking around. Can I buy new perches or do I remove and re-weld my old ones? I enjoy my ranger and plan to keep it. Plenty of power, some rust but a nice dependable daily driver with C-6 behind the 302. 2 Inch lift. I traded my sons 200,000 mile Corsica for it.
