1968 F250 Club Cab 4 Door
I have the chance to purchase a 1968 F250 CLUB CAB 4 DOOR short bed...no rust..solid...good condition. 360/4-speed...no options...no chrome...plain Jane. $1250 buys it but it is 1600 miles away...Owner said it will drive home ok other than the master cylinder needs to be swapped out....also the manifold gaskets are leaking. the master cylinder isn't an issue as I can change that easily. What about the manifold gaskets? Big deal? Should I be concerned? Is the truck worth 1250???

2 wheel drive or 4 wheel drive, if there is no rust then it is well worth it. It sounds like a custom trim model. Are the gaskets that are leaking Intake or Exhaust? There are not a lot of add on items on top of the intake manifold to remove to replace that gasket. it is pretty straight forward. If it's the Exhaust, be careful not to beak the bolts. they are known to be rusted and will break off in the heads. BIG PROBLEM! just use lots of spray and be gentle.

It is a 2 wheel drive...exhaust manifold gaskets are leaking. ( i think doing an intake sucks on a FE! ) I was worried about buring a valve driving it that far with a leak... Anyway.... This is interesting. Check www.nadavalues.com And go to the classic section...LOW RETAIL for this truck is over $8000. That is LOW RETAIL. What are the boys at NADA smoking???

Rent a straight truck (under 25K GVW) and a two car trailer local to where the truck is from U-Haul etc. Then trailer your car and the truck home. Just keep saying "55 saves lives".
> other than the master cylinder needs to be swapped out
Usually what this means is every wheel cyl. leaks and all the lines are rotted, if that is all it needed it would have been done already for the $12.00.

For a crew cab, if it is rust free or close to it, every penny, 2x4 or 4x4.
Again, many times "rust free" means I can not see the rotted floor or collapsed cab mounts.
