they are illegal in most places, some places say as long as you cant see the actual bulb they are ok. i recommend not buying them though, every brand i have ever seen has had burnt out bulbs within a couple months.

if you buy a good brand the bulbs have a lifetime warrenty on them. i have a street glow LED kit and they will replace the tubes for free. all it costs me is shiping which is only like $5.

Are you putting these on a truck? I've seen them before on ricer type cars. My former boss had them on a neon and they would get broken every few weeks by rocks and other road debris. In my opinion it would prolly be just more of a hassle and a waste of money.

as far as i know, it is illegal to have the tubes showing, but why would you want to put them on anyway? as said earlier, they do get broken, really easily, and it is just one big headache.

i think the under car kits look good on certain cars and trucks. on a sport truck they would look good. now on a big 4X4 truck that just does not fit the style. i have even seen under car kits on a mustang that had a ground effects kit and it looked good. anything that sits low and looks fast and sporty they look good on. as far as breaking tubes i have not had any problems with that, one of my friends broke one and that was only be cause he put the floor jack under it then street glow still replaced the tube for only $5.

i have only heard of certain colors that are illegal in nebraska though they were red blue and green. red and blue because of emergency vehicles and green because of military convoys. as far as durability i had a set of regular neons on my mazda p/u that lasted 2years before i sold the truck and they still worked. i have the led set on my wifes avenger on for about 1year and still work just fine.

the LED set is the best way to go. they use a low amount of power and they are brighter.

The LED's also don't hardly ever burn out, and if the tube is broken, light's still work. Street Glow has their tubes that are fully warrantied I believe. But if you're going to do it, make sure you spend time on the installation, don't have the bulb showing, and in most places you're not allowed to have red or bright blue. But this better be a lowered truck or something because it just doesn't look right on lifted rigs. Although I have seen one lifted truck that had white LED light bars underneath that pulsated to the beat of his sound system, it was beautiful, but it was also basically a show truck..

i have blue neons on my camaro me and my dad restored they do not break easily but in cold weather they r more fragile.
blue-police cars, green-emergancy vehicles, red-fire trucks, also red or orange can look like ur truck is on fire so i think those r also illeagle, that doesnt mean u cant have them just dont drive around all the time with them on. ive seen them done really tastefully, others with lights exposed looks bad, make something intersesting with multi colored lightsor something make ur truck stand out from the rest. i dont consider it rice enless u cover the whole car/truck with neons

I'm not sure but i always thought it was legal to have them but not turned on no matter where you were. I mean in some states it may be legal to turn them on but i know in Va. you can have them but cant turn them on while on the road.

I believe it is the second sign of the apocalypse. The first is neon under a Mustang.
