2016 F250 diesel tank swap from 26 to 37

Hi all...so I love my truck, but hate the tank as I have to stop for fuel to much. Why in Sam Hill would ford put a 26 gallon tank on a dang truck!

Anyway, anyone know if a 37 gallon tank from a long bed crew cab will bolt on/fit onto a short bed crew cab?

The reason for the 26 gallon tank is to make room for the DEF tank. No, the 37 gallon will not fit. You only option is the 50gal Titan or TransferFlow stock tank replacement. The other option is an in-bed transfer tank.

I have the 65 gal Titan in my long wheel base and love it....is a bit pricey bit worth it in my opinion...

Had a feeling that was gonna be the problem, thanks Larry...much appreciated. Will definitely look into the alternative options you gave. Will probably look to put a tank where the spare tire was mounted. Got rid of it cause it won't do me no good since I'm running big tires.

Not sure if TransferFlow has a spare tire tank, Titan does. Ford had a spare tire tank on some trucks, Not sure if for gas or diesel or if it was the narrow frame only (cab/chassis) trucks.

The problem I see on a spare tire tank is plumbing and then fuel transfer/usage or hooking into the main fuel system/fuel gauge/tank switching.

I replaced the 26 gallon with a Titan 50 in my 2012 F-250. I looked at the spare tire tank Titan offers as well but use a TC so other good space for the space tire.

Just curious. I can see the benefits of a larger tank, especially if you get a deal on fuel, but I always stop about every two hours just to pee, walk around, don't get a DVT, but hey, I am an old guy.

You guys that drive 10 hours at a whack must have a steel bladder, LOL.

I actually added a 55 gallon in-bed tank on my last run to WA from TX. So now carrying 105 gallons total. Payed 2.39 a gallon in Fort Worth and was able to drive till I found a decent price down the road in Albuqurque. The price at my destination had risen to 2.99 so quite a few dollars saved being able to use gas buddy and shop prices along the way. I filled up both tanks in Vancover where still less than my destination. I still have to stop every few hours as am a old guy too
