Gm Out Of Business Soon

Has anyone realized that GM only makes one "sports car", and that would be
the Corvette. This is all GM can come up with?? Dodge does'nt make any at
all. After all GM has cut production on Camaros totally - once one of the best all time muscle cars. Why can't they come with a car to compare to Ford Mustangs or Ford GT! I think GM is lacking in many ways - too many gimmicks on cars they do make. Examples: Avalanche & that suv with retractable roof?? What the hell is it called! I mean how many cheesy cars can one company make!

And they still outsell Ford globally. I highly doubt they'll even be close to going out of buisness in 50 years. The reason they don't build a car to compete with the gt is they don't want to spend the money. The new z06 is supposed to be close competition for it. 7 liters and 500 hp in a 2500 lb car and six speed tranny. Yeah they have gimmiks, but if they make money off of them why not?

GM OWNS:

SATURN
BUICK
OLDS
SAAB
GMC
CHEVY
PONTIAC
HUMMER
CADDY
HOLDEN
OPEL
VAUXHALL
ISUZU

And a few agreements with Honda.

So they are not going anywhere.

With the acception of Cadillac, Hymmer, and Saab, GM cars arn't all that great. I mean look at thier lineup and youll see what I mean. They are cheap. All the new cars they ahave come out with in the last year and a half are junk. Pontiac makes a few nice ones. Chev makes none. Saturn isn't all that great. Diddo for Buick, and I wont get into the other foreighn brands. None of GM's products stand out to me. I am not all that crazy about Cadillac either. Hummer I like, except that sorry excuse for an off-roader H2. They sell so much because they are cheap products. Thats the way I see it anyway. Ford, and Chrysler have far better lineups than GM, IMO.

Dodge will be making a sportscar soon. The Charger will be here in late 05.Its a four door but sports car at the same time. See some picture and you'll see what I mean. I have heard talk about there being a 2 door in the future. Chrysler has been so backed up with 300 production thet they had to delay the Charger till 06.

last I checked the GTO was a four door bonneville with a large motor - not like a real GTO was back in the day.
And a crossfire is not even close to being called a sports car - C"MON.

FYI Thay are plunking a hp V8 it it for next year I believe, caught some of it on Car & Driver the other day. BTW, no matter what, nothing will ever be like it was back in the day. So true, though, all Chrysler vehicles look like Rams, and they hope they will win people over by dumping Hemi's into every single vehicle in their line.

Well GM has thier hands in Toyota too take a look at newer toyota radiators, Harrison by GM.

Actually as far as the Fbody cars the Camaro will return eventually. http://www.popularhotrodding.com/fea...aro/index.html
Low sales due to high demand of SUV's and many less expensive base model rustangs "chick cars" meant it wasent profitable for GM to make fbodys anymore.

GM owns many differant name brands, these are just a few to name off.

SATURN
BUICK ISUZU VAUXHALL,GMC,SAAB,
HUMMER,CHEVY,OLDSMOBLIE,CADILAC,
OPEL,BUICK,HOLDEN

They also work with Honda , at one time they had discussions with Nissan, but to many conflicts on designs and marketing ideas, and the approach they use for dealing with issues did not fit with GM stye of doing buisness,
so they decided to go with honda's much more user friendly approach of doing buisness and loyal customer base .

I really dought that GM will go out of buisness, but as far as sport cars go they will be back with some kind of retro type muscle cars that will fit what the market truely the demands.

[QUOTE]

Harrision radiators is not producing only for toyota's but for dodge and maybe ford as well. GM is trying to seperate its self from Harrision, which used to be fridgedar.

Bonneville, FWD. GTO RWD, different body and frame. Completely different car.

GTO is the HOLDEN but still GM owned.
