Lincoln vs. Hobart

I'm looking into getting a welder and I know most of the basics, all I really need to know is what is the real difference between Lincoln 135 and Hobart 140? or Lincoln 175 and Hobart 180? Hobart seems to be slightly cheaper and I'm just curious as to why. Also, can anyone tell me the true difference between 135/175 PLUS and 135/175 T? Thanks guys!

They both work well. The 175/180 class are far superior to the smaller ones. You wouldnt likely notice much difference between the 2 companies although the SP175+ is considered the best in his class. The difference in the T and + is that the voltage settings are infinate in the + and tapped in the T. It doesnt make a lot of difference to me personally, I kind of like the T but in that paticular model the + works very well. Miller has infinate in its 175 class but there are some problems with it especially for the new operator. You are right, the Hobart is cheaper and has very good bottom end for sheetmetal work.
