2004 Screw-cant Drive With R/windows Down

I've seen a couple of posts about this. How many of you cannot drive with the rear windows down? I can't drive above 20 mph with a rear window down without the truck shaking violently. This is extremely unacceptable not to mention a major safety hazard to everybody in the truck, especially children.

Does this happen when only the rears are open, and all others are closed?

"with a rear window down..."

Yep, that's what I said. "with A rear window down..." Not even all the way down either. Which makes it even more unsafe.

If you roll one rear window down (even partially) the truck vibrates violently.
I know this can't just be my truck. Somebody else complained about this and that his daughter was afraid to ride in the truck. I don't blame her, I am too.

Ahhhhh. This explains the entire vibration problem. Its not something wrong with the drive train...... its something wrong with the windows. Problem solved.

I picked mine up last July and drove with all the windows down most of the summer. Have no idea what you're talking about. The truck drives fine. However, when I go above 50 on my Harley, the wind really knocks the hell out of you. Maybe, I should trade in my bike.

Fecal, I said with 'A' window down, not all of them. Before yesterday, I only drove it with all the windows down, not just one rear. Go get in your truck and roll only one of the rear windows down and drive it 50mph. Another member mentioned this and I hadn't tried it before until yesterday and it is horrible. Of course, I believe that when you do experience this you are just stubborn enough to believe it isn't actually happening. Can you try to have an open mind? Oh yeah, you own a Harley, maybe you can't.

I'll try the one rear window down thing today just for the hell of it. Why someone would drive around with only one rear window open beats me. I usually just open the moon roof. In my older trucks, I opened the slider. Also, unless you've ridden a Harley lately, don't knock em. They've come a long way in the past few years.

A lot of cars and trucks do that. It's something to do with air flow. My BMW used to do that too. I found if you open another window, even a little bit, it will stop.

You must drive around by yourself!

One word, "KIDS"

My Daughter wants her window open. I would not say it vibrates the truck, but the preasure that it creates does hurt my ears, it goes away when one of the from windows are opened.

My Wifes Jeep Liberty does the same thing!

Yep, the wind buffeting the inside of the cabin is hard on the ears. Almost every new car does this with one or both of the rear windows down. Our Liberty does it, my VW did it. I actually saw an article on it somewhere. (People will do a study on just about anything.)

As stated above, just open one of the front window a crack, (~1/2") and the buffeting goes away.
