Yeah, that would be great! With the Motorcraft part number, I'd think ANY parts store could come up with that part.
Motorcraft IS Ford. I wonder why Valley Auto Supply couldn't come up with it. They are usually into digging through catalogs and finding obscure items.
Of course, they found me a new master cylinder for our 1967 Thunderbird a few years ago -- for $169, and claimed there was no such thing as a rebuilt one available. My cousin who runs a Schuck's store got me a fresh A1 Cardone rebuilt cylinder for $28 with a $2 core charge. NAPA charged a $40 restocking fee when I returned their cylinder for refund, because it was a special order. I figured I was still $100 ahead...
This is a good Thanksgiving so far. I'm learning things.

Alright, this is for my 76 F250 4X4 w/o delay. The box reads;
SW-896
DOOZ-17A553-A
I always go to the Napa in Snohomish, my dad gets a discount there through his work, that makes it cheaper than Shucks and I know im getting a better part. They always get us what we need.
Yeah, we usually have pretty good luck with the Sedro Woolley NAPA finding parts. But I think the biggest difference is finding a parts guy who can use the right catalogs and knows how to search for things.
Valley Auto Supply has had a contract with Seattle City Light (my employer) for many years. It's a standing joke that if we ask for the City Light Employee discount, they'll only charge us twice what we'd pay elsewhere. They are not cheap. But they do have some older guys who know parts. My recent screwup with the turn signal switch was due to letting a young guy there hand me the part with the assurance "they're all the same," and not checking closely. It did say on the package "fits '78-79 Ford."
The one I'm looking at now says "SM47F FORD w/ automatic transmission 77-73 truck F series 100/350, Bronco 77-75 van E-series 100/350." It also says "SM a product of Shee-Mar, Inc."
Hey, I have to get going. Let's all go eat turkey and pie and kick back.
i went to the junk we have around here in idaho and there was like 20 old ford and i found the switch and the black box and installed it in my 76. works like a champ i dont know what i would do with out delay wipers now.
