Aftermarket Accessories...or Lack Thereof

I was planning on installing a new brush and grille guard on my 95 F-150 as well as running boards and a lighted visor.
Amazingly though, it seems as though most of the major manufacturers are discontinuing the production of items such as these for the 93-96 trucks due to a "lack of popularity" as the local speedshop owner so politely put it.
I was really looking forward to making this truck look really nice, but it looks like it's going to take some extra effort now that I wasn't planning on.
Amazingly, if I owned a 95 Silverado, I would be flooded with aftermarket parts for that style of truck. Sorry for ranting, but it's just a tad frustrating, you know?

I would post in the 87-96 F-Series forum to see where others are getting accessories from. I find it had to believe that no one carries what you are looking for. Locally maybe, but not on the net. Good luck to you.

Actually, I did try posting there and got no response. I guess most everyone thinks it's stupid to put a brush and grille guard on a 2wd truck. But, as long as this truck is, I want to make sure there's something between the car ahead of me and the front of my truck, especially in parking lots.

First parking lot I took the truck to I had a guy trying to squeeze his car in front of my truck. Obviously he didn't realize how long an extended cab, long box truck is before he tried to maneuver his rice burner into the spot ahead of me. Found out quick enough though.

Hopefully ResQueDude92's links will help you out. I am sure there is stuff out there as 4x2's have become real popular to mod after the pre-runner look. Might not be exactly what you are looking for, but I am sure a lot of the desert racing companies will have something for you. Besides, brush and grille guards, running boards and lighted visors should all bolt onto a 95 F-150 regardless of if it is a 4x4 or 4x2.

I hear you on the parking lot stuff. People don't like to mess with me when they see the SD coming or worse yet my Range Rover. I keep the SD looking nice even though it is work truck. The size gets them. I think the Range Rover scares them due to the dents, trail pin striping, and I rarely wash it even after wheeling. I guess they figure it is not the vehicle to mess around with as I have nothing to lose.

Boy, I'll tell you, people in these here parts love to see how close they can get to the other vehicles around them in the parking lots especially. It killed me. I was sitting in the truck watching this idiot trying to squeeze his Toyota in the spot behind me. As long as that truck is, this guy thinks he's going to be able to squeeze his car into the spot behind me. I was waiting for the thud of his car hitting the bumper of my truck. The next thud he would have heard was me hitting him in the head for being stupid!

He finally got the picture though when I guy stopped behind him and told him his car was sticking too far out to let it stay there. What a moron! Just goes to show, it takes all kinds, you know?

Yeah, that is why I like living in a rural area. Don't normally have traffic or parking issues. My traffic issues are normally caused by some animal in the road.

You are right about how nuts it gets in some parking lots. My wife and I were out shopping and she wanted to run into a store for one item. I stayed in the truck watching all the boneheads fighting for parking spots in front of the stores. Saw three near accidents in a 15 minute time period over different parking spots.
